It can be a bit tricky to paint your awning a lighter color. It is durable and resistant to things like mold and mildew while holding its color quite well. You can normally go with a darker color to cover up faded fabric. Prepare the work area.

Set out paints fill spray bottle with water set out containers and cover work area. Natural fiber awnings need to be replaced more often than their acrylic or vinyl or vinyl polyester composite counterparts. Colors like black crimson or steel blue are fantastic for refreshing the look of a dated awning fabric.

Our favorite method of applying the waterproofing solution is through a spray bottle on the mist setting. If you re looking for a durable water proof and fire resistant awning fabric that is energy efficient then a vinyl polyester composite fabric might be right for you. Cover a large flat work surface with cling film to protect it from paint splatter. We normally do three coats allowing each one to dry for 4 hours.
